Owner-Answered Shreveport Movers, Keithville-Based Since 2018

Ben Whitfield runs A-Class Student Movers out of the 71109 I-20 industrial corridor yard — a W-2 Shreveport crew, company-titled fleet, written flat price signed before move day on every Shreveport-Bossier and the North Louisiana college corridor address. The owner’s cell rings day; Beth Hartwell covers overnight from 8pm to 8am.

Your ZIPs land on Lori’s desk at the Bossier intake office — reviewed personally, no broker handoff, used only to price your Shreveport-Bossier local move.

A-Class Student Movers is a Shreveport-born household-goods carrier built around the one thing every Atlas, Mayflower, and Allied franchise in North Louisiana kept botching: the August-1 dorm move-in block. We opened in 2018 out of a Greenwood Road yard off I-20 and we still operate from the same bay today.

Who Ben Whitfield is

Ben Whitfield grew up off Pines Road on the west side of Shreveport, played receiver at Captain Shreve High, and commuted to LSU-Shreveport for his business-administration degree. From 2011 to 2018 he ran warehouse ops at the Atlas Van Lines Shreveport branch, dispatching student-move convoys to Ruston and Grambling every August and watching the same Centenary lease churn hit every May.

“I opened A-Class because the franchises were treating Aug 1 like a normal Tuesday. It is not. It is the busiest 72 hours of the Shreveport calendar and the only way to do it right is to plan around it.” — Ben Whitfield, owner

What sets the operation apart

  • Five trucks, eight W-2 movers, eleven on payroll — no day labor, no van-line subcontract.
  • Greenwood Road yard off I-20 with secure indoor staging for the August rush.
  • Owner-walked estimates — Ben signs every binding flat figure.
  • Climate-controlled bay for between-lease and between-semester storage.
  • $1M cargo coverage on every load, local or interstate.

How we plan the year

  1. June 15 — August booking opens. We start blocking LSU-Shreveport, Centenary, Louisiana Tech and BPCC dorm slots.
  2. Aug 1-15 — dorm move-in cycle. Extended 7am-9pm hours, every truck on the road.
  3. Jan 4-10 — spring-semester block. Returning students and faculty transfers.
  4. Mid-May — lease-break window. Centenary off-campus and Louisiana Tech grad-student churn.

Where we run

Local hourly work covers all of Caddo and Bossier Parishes plus Webster, De Soto, and Red River. Long-distance work runs the I-20 and I-49 corridors — Dallas, Little Rock, Memphis, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, New Orleans — with the same Phil-led crew that loaded at your Shreveport curb.

Call (888) 278-9005 or visit our contact page to walk through your move with the owner. Customers’ words live on the reviews page, and A-Class Student Movers answers Mon-Sat 7am-6pm.

What you can count on

The Way We Work

Four things have stayed constant since 2018 — they’re the reason Shreveport households keep A-Class Student Movers on speed-dial and pass the number to neighbors heading from Highland to Bossier or up Hwy 80 toward Ruston and Grambling.

One flat written rate

Ben scopes the job, Doug emails you one flat figure, you sign before the trucks leave Greenwood Road — that’s the same number on the receipt at the new place in Bossier City or up at the Centenary off-campus apartment. No hourly meter creeping past Aug-1 sunset, no “heavy-item” surprise at the dorm dock.

Our own crew & trucks

Both movers at your door wear a It’s Your Move shirt and a W-2 — never day-helpers off Craigslist, never a broker farming the job. Ben himself trains every crew chief, and the five trucks are titled to the company.

Licensed & insured

A Louisiana state HHG household-goods license for in-state work, DOT/MC interstate authority on file for the long hauls, and $1M of cargo coverage on every load we run.

On time and careful

Pads, wrap, dollies and straps are stacked on the truck the night before by Greg or Phil — that way morning starts with the crew at your door at 5am or post-7pm sharp, ahead of the I-220 rush, not chasing tape at the warehouse.

Stars Across The Board

Verified Reviews On Every Platform

Bossier ranch homes, Highland dorms, South Highlands brick splits, Centenary off-campus apartments — Shreveport clients drop a review on whichever site brought them to us first. A-Class Student Movers stars stack the same way across all of them.

Four Lines, A Signed Flat Rate, And Ben’s Countersign

Ben pulls the calendar against the Greater Shreveport hitch-shifts and writes the binding figure on Greenwood Rd letterhead, and the reply lands in your inbox — bilingual EN loads inside an hour, ES paperwork within two. No deposit, no chase calls if you walk.
