The Shreveport to Lafayette run is the long I-49 south spine, top to bottom. Two hundred and fifteen miles through Cajun country, Opelousas as the halfway marker, and a slow drop into Acadiana proper. It is the route Phil books most often during late August when Louisiana Tech parents end up shipping kids back to Lafayette households.

From the Greenwood Road yard we roll south on I-49 the entire route — no interchange swaps, no bypass surprises. Natchitoches scrolls past at mile 70, Alexandria-Pineville at mile 130, and Opelousas at mile 175. The truck rolls into Lafayette through the Carencro exit corridor.
